Conversations around the use of AI have started sparking intense debate in every industry and profession. It's triggered memories of the early hype surrounding the "World Wide Web" 30 years ago and how the 'Internets' would either solve all problems or cause the eventual demise of our civilization. The need, as always, is to move beyond conversation to action...one step at a time.
In early Fall of 2023 at a CXR gathering of TA leaders and TA solutions suppliers, a challenge was dropped to consider what employers needed to know from their technology partners about how they integrated AI into their solution.
This RFI/RFP for Generative AI was fine-tuned with nearly 50 TA leaders and two dozen Talent Tech Founders, CEOs, IT Gurus and various PhDs. What a 'good response' would be to the answers remains a continuing challenge that is slowly taking shape through legislation, directive, context, degree of risk and much more. The key is that our industry needs to raise its voice on this and many other issues related to improving our industry and advancing our profession. If we don't step up, there are plenty who have never been in our shoes willing to.
